5. How long will my credit be affected? The bankruptcy will remain on your credit for 8 - 10 years. However, most creditors do not wait that long before offering credit to the individual again.
6. Will I have to do anything other than file the bankruptcy? Yes, you will be required to attend a credit counseling class, provide the court with documentation regarding your finances, attend a meeting of the creditors, and receive a certificate in financial management.
